This issue is normally caused by an external impact (e.g. accident), or normal wear on older bikes.

Where to have this issue fixed

This issue is not specific to Cowboy bikes, so it's quickest to visit your local bike shop who will be able to fix this in a few minutes. You do not need specific Cowboy parts for this, any bike shop will have them in stock.

If your spoke is bent, this is not a safety issue but your local bike shop can also look at this as well.

  • Local Bike shop: We recommend visiting your local favourite bike shop to easily and quickly fix this issue, sharing the instructions below.

Repair Instructions

(You can share these instructions with your local bike shop)

  • Step 1: First check that the rim isn't damaged around the spot where the spoke broke. If it is, replace the wheel, or the rim.

  • Step 2: If the wheel does not need replacing, then replace the spoke using this tutorial

    • Note; Note that we also have a rim tape inside the rim. The rim tape should be removed to access the spoke from inside the rim (simply push it aside with a small pointy tool), then be reinstalled before remounting the tire.

    • (To remove the rear wheel, use this tutorial)
