If you sell your bike to another owner, it’s easy to transfer digital ownership of the bike. Here’s how:

  • If you have the Theft Insurance, you need to cancel it first. This insurance is personal and cannot be transferred. To do so, email [email protected] with proof of sale, such as a bank statement or an email conversation.

  • When your subscription is officially cancelled, you can unlink your bike from your account in the app. Go to Settings ➝ Advanced ➝ Unlink this bike from my account. You’ll then receive your bike’s QR code via email. Simply transfer this email to the new bike owner so they can access your bike.

  • If you subscribed to Cowboy Care, it is tied to your account, and you cannot transfer it to a new user.

Note that all your trips will remain in your account, and the new owner's trips will be picked up from the first ride with their new bike.

I would like to connect a new bike to my account. What should I do?

If you ever buy another Cowboy bike, make sure to unlink your previous bike:

  • Go to Settings ➝ Advanced ➝ Unlink this bike from my account.

Simply log in afterwards with your current email address and scan the QR code of your new bike in the activation flow. You will access all your ride history and personal data.

If you have an active Theft Insurance on your current bike, please contact our customer service to transfer your coverage to your new bike manually.

What happens to the warranty if a Cowboy bike has been modified to exceed legal speed limits?

If a Cowboy bike has been modified with illegal parameters, such as using a third-party app to unlock its speed, the affected parts' warranty is void. This warranty cannot be reinstated, even if the bike is later sold to someone else, as it no longer complies with the original specifications.
