If you sell your bike to another owner, it’s easy to transfer digital ownership of the bike. Here’s how:
If you have an Insurance, you need to cancel it first. This insurance is personal and cannot be transferred. To do so, send an e-mail to [email protected] with a proof of sale, like a bank statement or an e-mail conversation.
When your subscription is officially cancelled, you’ll be able to unlink your bike from your account in the app. Go to Settings ➝ Advanced ➝ Unlink this bike from my account. You’ll then receive your bike’s QR code via email. Simply transfer this email to the new bike owner so they can access your bike.
If you have Cowboy Care, you will also need to cancel it to be able to transfer your bike. Simply get in touch with the team through your Cowboy App to do so.
Note that all your trips will remain in your account and the trips of the new owner will pick up from the first ride with their new bike.
I would like to connect a new bike to my account, what should I do?
If you ever buy another Cowboy bike, make sure to unlink your previous bike:
Go to Settings ➝ Advanced ➝ Unlink this bike from my account.
Simply log in afterwards using your current email address and scan your new bike’s QR code in the activation flow. You will retrieve all your rides history and personal data.
If you have an active Theft Insurance on your current bike, please get in touch with our customer service to transfer you to your new bike manually.
What happens to the warranty if a Cowboy bike has been modified to exceed legal speed limits?
If a Cowboy bike has been modified with illegal parameters—such as using a third-party app to unlock its speed—the warranty on the affected parts is void. This warranty cannot be reinstated, even if the bike is later sold to someone else, as it no longer complies with the original specifications.
