Classic, Cruiser, Cruiser ST, Cowboy 3 & Cowboy 2
Unlocking and locking your bike has never been easier. We’ve designed multiple options to fit your daily routine and preferences.
Here’s how to turn your Cowboy on and off.
Through the app
Open the Cowboy app to unlock your bike. Simply press and hold the “lock” icon to turn it on or off. From the app, you can start navigation, turn on your lights, and much more.
Auto Unlock
With Auto Unlock enabled, your Cowboy will automatically wake up as you approach. No need to take out your phone. Just hop on and ride.
When your ride is done, simply walk away, and Auto Lock will secure your bike for you after a couple of seconds. If you lose Bluetooth connection and the bike doesn't detect that you've walked away, it will lock automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity.
Voice Command via Siri
If you’re an iPhone user, Siri makes unlocking your bike effortless. Just use your voice to wake it up and get moving.

This companion app connects to your bike via your smartphone, so always keep it with you.
Manual Unlock: Your Backup Plan
No phone? No problem. Remove your battery using your key, then reinsert it within 10 seconds to start the motor and lights, and hit the road. It’s that simple.
This feature is fully secure because only you can remove the battery with your unique key. In case of theft, activating “Find My Bike” will also disable Manual Unlock as an extra safety measure.
Since firmware v4.22.0, you get visual feedback from the bike’s LEDs to make the process clearer: when you disconnect the battery, the LEDs light up dimly. They then turn off one by one to indicate a 10-second countdown during which you must reconnect the battery to power on your bike.
If you don’t see the countdown, make sure you haven’t marked your bike as stolen via Find My Bike, as Manual Unlock is disabled in that case. To deactivate Find My Bike, just tap the button at the top right of your screen.
While we offer ways to turn the bike on without the app, connectivity remains at the core of the Cowboy experience. We recommend opening your app regularly to check for new updates and alerts.
