Leasing a Cowboy e-bike through your employer

1. What are the advantages of leasing a Cowboy bike through my employer?

Leasing through your employer offers significant financial benefits. The monthly leasing instalments are taken from your gross salary, making it, on average, 40% cheaper than a private purchase. The net cost can be as low as €54 per month for a 36-month period.

Additional advantages include:

  • Improved health and environmental benefits

  • Avoiding traffic jams and parking issues

  • An all-in leasing package that includes services and insurance for peace of mind.

2. How long is the typical leasing period?

The standard leasing period is 36 months, with monthly instalments deducted from your gross salary. Depending on your leasing partner, this period can be longer or shorter.

3. What happens if I leave my employer during the lease period?

If you leave your employer, options may vary depending on your leasing agreement. It’s best to discuss this directly with your employer for more details on how to proceed.

4. Can I add Cowboy’s theft insurance to my leasing order?

No, it's usually not possible to add Cowboy’s theft insurance. Most leasing partners provide their own insurance for theft, accidents, and damages as part of the leasing package. However, you can purchase Cowboy’s insurance privately if desired.

5. Can I include Cowboy Care in my leasing package?

Typically, you cannot add the Cowboy Care subscription to your leasing order, as most leasing partners handle maintenance services. You can still purchase Cowboy Care separately or use the service budget from your leasing package to cover the Cowboy Care plan.

6. Can I add accessories to my leasing order?

Yes, you can add both the bike and accessories to your leasing order. However, some partners may not consider smartphone mounts or matching phone cases as leasable items. Check with your local leasing partner for details.

7. I’ve already purchased/pre-ordered a bike. Can I lease it through a partner?

No, you cannot convert an existing purchase into a lease. The only option is to cancel your existing order and place a new one through a local leasing partner.

8. What if I want to return my Cowboy e-bike?

Generally, returning a leased Cowboy e-bike is not possible. Inspecting your bike upon delivery for any defects or damages is important. If there are issues, contact Cowboy customer service. Exchanges are possible in certain situations. Review our return policy here.

You can lease or purchase any of our current models through Cycle to Work schemes, including:

  • Classic

  • Cruiser

  • Cruiser ST

Ordering through leasing or cycle-to-work schemes

Can I lease a bike?

Yes, you can definitely lease a Cowboy bike if your employer or business works with one of our leasing partners. We offer both employee leasing via several leasing providers and the opportunity to purchase your Cowboy via a cycle-to-work scheme.

Employee Leasing

Leasing includes various services so you can ride worry-free.

It consists of 36 months of operational leasing. The employer usually deducts the monthly contribution from your gross salary. During the leasing period, the bike is technically owned by the leasing company. At the end, you can choose to transfer ownership of the bike at a residual value of 16% to 20%.

36 months of operational leasing comes at an estimated cost of €70-110 gross per month, including:

  • Yearly maintenance budget/service moments at the location

  • Theft and damage insurance

  • Road assistance

The net cost per month is around €50. Please note that these amounts depend on your situation and your work sector.
